Restaurant Ordering Super-System: a project developed by me & 3 random team members. I led the team in applying user-centered design methods for creating prototype user interfaces.
From low-level (pictives, storyboarding, etc), to mid-level (wire framing) & high-fidelity techniques (C#, WPF).

For my second Human-Computer Interaction course, I and two of my friends (Kamalpreet Mundi & Edward Mah) developed a variety of different creative applications & devices with an equally diverse tech stack. From JavaScript, to an AR app using the Unity & Vuforia Engines, and an Arduino-based physical device.
Each had the same production cycle: a week of ideation followed by a week of development & implementation.

For my second Human-Computer Interaction course, I and two of my friends (Kamalpreet Mundi & Edward Mah) developed a variety of different creative applications & devices with an equally diverse tech stack.
Each had the same production cycle: a week of ideation followed by a week of development & implementation.
Tasked with creating a single-button application based on some personality or characteristic of ours, we developed a JavaScript game called QUICKFAST.
Inspired by my life experience living with ADHD, QUICKFAST keeps your mind sharp by testing your reaction speed, reflexes & hand-eye coordination.
So tell me,

How Fast Are You?
Next we designed & developed two creative methods for unlocking a mobile device, one with touch-based input and another with motion input (accelerometer, gyroscope, etc).

Style-to-Unlock features a non-gendered person that users can style differently by swiping on the hat, glasses or mouth. The right stylistic combination unlocks your mobile device!
Afterall, what's more you than your fashion sense, right?

On the other hand, PickPocket uses your mobile device's gyroscope to determine the position of the lockpicks in the lock. Tilt your phone to right angle in the right order (psst: notice the two pins!) to unlock your mobile device.
The time had come for the hardware project. This time, we had to develop a physical device that solved an everyday problem of ours.
So let's give some context. On the right, you can clearly see my mother's love for gardening. Every summer she grows all kinds of herbs & vegetables in our backyard, giving me the privileged access to fresh ingredients! With how cold (and sudden) the Calgary winter is, she had to harvest all her tomatoes and other plants early. A single, sudden, cold night could kill all the plants immediately. However, growing plants indoors during the winter is either arduous, expensive or both.

Thus was born GreenLight, our creative Arduino project to grow plants indoors. Featuring an automated grow lamp, temprature & humidity sensors, a 16-bit display & photosensitive RGB lights, GreenLight is automated, cheap & easy-to-use. The user review was very good, even when considering it's my mother ;)
For our final project we were told to create anything so long as it was practical & aided in human-communication. After brainstorming & ideating various different ideas, we settled on creating ConstructAR, a proof-of-concept application to enable faster, more efficient communication between the various skilled trades & professionals on construction sites.

ConstructAR allows multiple people to view the plumbing, electrical & ventilation infrastructure in any physical space, in real-time, without requiring co-ordination with outdated maps, blueprints & sketches. Even if the building is already constructed!
